Drug Uses
Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other conditions as prescribed by your physician.
How Taken
Use Imodium as recommended by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a meal. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Do not use for more than [[two|2] days unless suggested by a physician.
Additional Information
Imodium may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your physician. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
