Drug Uses
Imodium is used for treating and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and decreasing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It can also be used for other situations as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Imodium as prescribed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a food intake. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Do not take for more than [[two|2] days unless suggested by a physician.
More Information
Imodium can cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Imodium with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Imodium should be used only by the patient for whom it has been recommended. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
