Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Take Cipro with a full glass of water as determined by your physician. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within 6 hours before or two hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
Additional Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Cipro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your doctor. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
